Guiding people to Intentional Community living

Celestopea is a non-profit organization dedicated to the planned colonization of the earth's oceans through a series of self-sufficient, semi-autonomous, floating cities located in international waters and incorporating innovative new technologies, industries and social organization. The residents of these future cities, throughout the world, will show by exemplary actions that people of different races and divergent political, religious, cultural and social beliefs can live and prosper together while also being good stewards of the earth, respecting, and thereby benefiting all inhabitants and ecosystems of the planet.

The motto of Celestopea is "transformation begins with me".  This recognizes that whenever you seek to improve the world, you must first make the changes necessary within yourself.  Your character, the example of who you are and how successfully and happily you live your life are more powerful engines of change than all the words that you could ever write, or all the battles you could ever fight.

Attaining a satisfactory level of love and companionship through intimate relations is an unalterable, fundamental need of all human beings. The Institute for 21st Century Relationships exists to facilitate the fulfillment of the human potential for relating, and to support the freedom of consenting adults to discover and to practice the intimate relationship structure that best meets their emotional and human needs. We champion the basic human right to do so free of governmental, societal or institutional coercion or favoritism.

Sustainable Community  Creating a Vision of an Earth Restored and a World at Peace, is a web site with a very nice overall description of what intentional communities are, with links to many of them and a newsgroup.

The Venus Project presents a bold, new direction for humanity that entails nothing less than the total redesign of our culture. There are many people today who are concerned with the serious problems that face our modern society: unemployment, violent crime, replacement of humans by technology, over-population and a decline in the Earth's ecosystems. As you will see, The Venus Project is dedicated to addressing all of these problems by actively engaging in the research, development, and application of workable solutions. Through the use of innovative approaches to social awareness, educational incentives, and the consistent application of the best that science and technology can offer directly to the social system, The Venus Project offers a comprehensive plan for social reclamation in which human beings, technology, and nature will be able to coexist in a long-term, sustainable state of dynamic equilibrium.

Utopian Philosophy Every Human institution has a guiding mission statement or philosophy. Likewise, Humanity as a whole should have a guiding philosophy. Since Utopia is the best Humanity can perceive, Utopia should be Humanity's guiding philosophy. This web site consists of a modern day trilogy on the possibility of Humanity reaching Utopia, and is an attempt to help popularize Utopia as a philosophy. A philosophy of striving for the best life attainable should be a part of human culture. This basic philosophy can be one global element of common sense and common purpose in an otherwise complex and fragmented world. Utopian philosophy can be the goal that unites the world for good and noble actions. Click on any of the three books to read the same.

Abundant Love Institute "Loving More magazine and the Loving More community are pioneers and explorers... They tell us over and over again that the radical honesty that is required to make a polyamorous life work is the same required to make any life worth living at all."

COMMUNITIES

Harbin Hot Springs is a non-profit retreat center owned by Heart Consciousness Church. It is operated and maintained by more than 150 members of the Religious Order of Heart Consciousness. Pioneers in new massage and body/spiritual work techniques in a clothing optional environment with many natural hot water springs treated with ozone.

Access (A Center for the Creation of Environmentally Sustainable Systems) is a recently formed not-for-profit corporation. ACCESS is currently located on 67 acres of wooded land in southwestern Virginia. We are working to create a rural community based on principles of egalitarianism, shared income and work, consensus decision making, truly sustainable living systems, and the development and practice of sustainable interpersonal systems

East Wind Today, as in the past, many people are interested in creating an alternative society based on a vision of peace, love and social justice. East Wind is one such community, owned, operated and governed by its members. We are a non violent, feminist, environmentally and ecologically aware; egalitarian, income/resources and expenses shared in common cooperative ( FEC and FIC members). We are located on 1045 acres of land in the beautiful Ozark mountains of southern Missouri. Presently we number about 70 adults and 10 children.

Twin Oaks Since Twin Oaks began in 1967, our lifestyle has reflected our values of equality and nonviolence. Our goals have been to sustain and expand a community which values cooperation; which is not sexist or racist; which treats people in a caring and fair manner; and which provides for the basic needs of our members. Although our original inspiration came from B.F. Skinner's novel, Walden Two, it is now just one of the many influences which have helped shape Twin Oaks' character. Our desire to be a model social system has broadened to include human-scale solutions to problems of land use, food production, energy conservation, and appropriate use of technology.

Dancing Rabbit The Dancing Rabbit Project is a group of individuals who desire true environmental sustainability. Rather than the "quick fixes" or band-aid efforts of the mainstream, we are interested in long-term societal and technological changes that will ensure the integrity of the ecosphere, and the well-being of humans, far into the future.

Findhorn Foundation We are an international community and developing eco-village of about 350 people, living, studying and working together in the northeast of Scotland. The community was founded in 1962 by Eileen Caddy, Peter Caddy and Dorothy Maclean in a caravan park a mile from the seaside village of Findhorn.   While we have no formal doctrine or creed, we honor and recognize all the major world religions, believing that there are many paths to God. Our focus is on learning to bring spiritual principles into our daily lives through our work, the way we relate to each other, and how we express our caring and concern for the Earth

Sandhill Farm is a family of friends. Being on the land is important to us. We grow our own food and farm organically. We feel a spiritual connection with the earth and with one another and celebrate the interrelatedness of all life. We get satisfaction from being able to do things ourselves, whether its making butter and cheese, repairing old machines, making our own entertainment or building our own buildings. We share our land, our work and our play, and our appreciation and love for each other. We also recognize each person's need for private space and try to be supportive of individual interests and needs. There is structure in our lives, but we try to get along with as few rules as we can. We, in UEN appreciate the commitment to truly self sustainable ways at all levels of the beautiful and experienced brothers and sister of SH Farm.

Love, Community and Human Evolution ZEGG is about both the philosophical and practical aspects of creating a society based on love, trust, partnership and a shared vision of a world free of violence, fear and repression - a world that honors the curiosities and pursuits of it's inhabitants and sees each one of us as contributors, through our interests and passions, to the growth and evolution of the planet. Social projects such as ZEGG, Project Meiga, Tamera, and the Network for a New Culture (NFNC), which focus on these goals, will be highlighted and described, as well as other communities and projects which have a similar focus. Love, Community and Human Evolution is about seeing community as a way to meet our innate desire for close relationships and a supportive growth oriented environment. This makes possible the individual's pursuit of both their own process of discovery and their own way of contributing.

The Family - An International Fellowship They are a fellowship of independent Christian missionary communities active in over 70 countries. Their nonconformist beliefs and lifestyle have no fixed or common collective name, therefore when referring to their membership collectively, they simply use the name, "The Family." Each member community in their fellowship is independent and has its own local name. One of the main things that sets The Family apart from other churches is the belief adults share in practicing certain sexual freedoms within Scriptural bounds. Family adults, be they single or married, are free to enjoy loving sexual relationships with other consenting adults. They believe that God is a sexy God. "He created sex, so why would He not want us to enjoy it in love? And thus, we believe our love for one another, including sexual love, is an expression or illustration of God's Love for us. He created the beautiful marriage union of man and woman, with Himself also united in their union as part of their loving relationship. A married member is free, after receiving the agreement of their spouse, to have sex with another partner. Women are as free as men to initiate a sexual relationship".

Tekiah is a subgroup, or "pod," of Abundant Dawn Community, whose vision we share: "We are creating a loving and sustainable culture. "We live close to one another, cooperate, and share resources so that we may live more lightly and joyously on the earth. As we seek to realize ourselves through service, and work towards ecological and social responsibility, we respect the diversity of our members' life choices. "Whether in times of peace or conflict, we meet each other face to face, with openness and caring. We are each individually committed to reaching through our hurts and fears to find and share our deepest truths. We honor the sp
